In 1970 Carol (Pastore) Sullivan appealed to the Board of Christian Education at MCC with a request to develop a "Day Nursery School" for the children at the church and community. This vision and love of children along with donations and financial contributions from the Silver Lake community made this dream possible. The MCC Nursery School doors were opened on September 20, 1971. Enrolled were 14 four year olds for three days a week from 9:00 am-11:30 am. Carol (Pastore) Sullivan taught the children and provided a safe, loving and wonderful environment, along with the help of one participating mother.
Now over 40 years later, MCC Nursery School continues with its vision and commitment to provide the same safe, loving and nurturing place for preschool age children.
